Imaging: quick answers

What is it?

A painless, radiation-free way to see inside your pet's body — organs, bladder, heart, and masses — using our portable IQ+ Vet ultrasound.

Why would my pet need it?

If your pet is vomiting, straining to urinate, has a swollen belly, is losing weight, or just isn't acting normally, imaging helps us find the cause.

Why is it better with us?

We bring the ultrasound to your home and run it during the same visit — no second clinic trip — and it is included in your $695 visit when medically appropriate.

Imaging services available at home

  • Abdominal ultrasound — liver, kidneys, spleen, bladder, adrenals, GI tract
  • Cardiac echo screening
  • Soft tissue and lymph node assessment
  • Pregnancy confirmation and fetal viability
  • Guided aspiration and sampling when indicated

The advantage of in-home ultrasound

Portable ultrasound brings real-time, non-invasive imaging directly to your living room. For most general-practice questions — abdominal screening, suspected masses, bladder problems, unexplained weight loss, or chronic GI signs — an in-home ultrasound provides the same diagnostic answers you'd get at a clinic, without the stress of transport. Because your pet stays calm at home, most exams require no sedation.

Interpretation on the spot

Dr. Susset Diaz Castillo performs and interprets the study during the visit, so you understand what the images show before she leaves. When a case calls for advanced cardiology or specialist interventional imaging, she will refer you to a board-certified cardiologist or radiologist and help coordinate the next step. Imaging is often combined with bloodwork and a physical exam in the same visit, giving a complete picture of your pet's health without a second appointment. Common reasons to image include chronic vomiting or diarrhea, a suspected lump, straining to urinate, an enlarged abdomen, or monitoring a known condition over time.
